What's Wrong with the Nets
The Brooklyn Nets played awful on Christmas Day as they lost to the Boston Celtics by a score of 93-76. The Nets are now only 14-13 and 9-7 at home on the season. The team was once at the top of the Atlantic Division with the New York Knicks with an 11-4 record.
Deron Williams only had 10 points in the game while attempting seven shots. Joe Johnson was held to 12 points. Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez each had 15 in the loss. The team had 20 turnovers which continue to be an issue.
The Nets and Celtics are now tied for second place in the Atlantic Division with each 5.5 games behind the Knicks. The only interesting part of this game was when Gerald Wallace and Kevin Garnett got into a brief scuffle after a foul.
I’m really not sure what happened to this team. Ever since Brook Lopez got hurt it’s almost like they forgot how to play. The bench hasn’t been the same either when they started out really hot. Avery Johnson has supposedly starting to change the playbook to help out Deron Williams which is pretty crazy considering the team was one of the better teams in the NBA a month ago.
Williams and Joe Johnson are not earning their contracts by any means. If Williams wants to be thought of one of the best point guards in the league he needs to find his jump shot. Johnson had been playing better for yesterday so we’ll cut him some slack.
The Nets are back in action tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks at home. The Bucks already have defeated the Nets once this season. They beat the Nets 97-88 on December 9th.
