Rutgers adds Maryland to schedule
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have added a home-and-home series with Maryland starting in 2014. The Knights will play in Maryland first while Maryland will come to High Point Solutions Stadium in 2019. Rutgers is currently set to play Penn State, Howard, Tulane and Navy in 2014 already.
The teams have met nine times in their history with Maryland winning five of the games. Rutgers won the initial meeting in 1920 and also has wins in 1939, 1941 and the last meeting in 2009. The Terps hold victories in 1921, 1925, 1940, 1942 and 2007.
High Point Solutions Stadium holds a capacity of 54,454 fans while Byrd Stadium in College Park, Maryland holds 54,000. Maryland’s out of conference schedule in 2014 includes a game at Temple and home games against James Madison and West Virginia per fbschedules.com.
