Mets drop back to back games to the Cubs
Mets drop fourth game in a row losing 5-3 last night to the Cubs. All the good feeling that came from the sweep of Baltimore has now gone away. It’s inexcusable to lose a series to a team around 25 games under .500. We could possibly get swept today.
The team just can’t hit with runners in scoring position. They lead the major leagues in runs with two outs but they do almost nothing before getting to two outs. They left runners on base all night long and never got the big hit.
Dillon Gee wasn’t great last night but the starting pitching is not the problem. We all know how awful the bullpen is but the hitting needs to pick it up. Outside of David Wright, there is no other regular in the lineup who really scares you.
