Gee leads Mets to victory
The Mets defeated the Cubs by a score of 3-1 today. Dillon Gee went eight innings for the win while Bobby Parnell got the save. The Mets scored all of their runs on homeruns. Jordany Valdespin hit his fourth of the season and Ike David hit his twelfth.
The Mets are now 46-39 on the season. The team is currently in second place behind the Washington Nationals with one game to go before the All-Star break. David Wright and R.A. Dickey are the only Met representatives this year.
