Devils Win
The New Jersey Devils won again tonight. They defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning at home by a score of 4-2. It was a 2-1 game until late in the third period when the Devils scored two power play goals to clinch the victory. Andy Greene and Patrik Elias scored 14 second apart to put the Devils up 4-1.
Ilya Kovalchuk put the Devils in front 2-1 with a shorthanded goal late in the second period. It was his third goal of the season. Adam Henrique opened the scoring with his third goal of the season early in the second period.
Nate Thompson and Matt Carle had the Lightning goals. The Devils outshot the Lightning 27-19. The Devils improved to 6-1-3 while the Lightning fell to 6-4. The team will play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday afternoon at the Rock.
